Raw Materials: Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) is synthesized from salicylic acid, which is often derived from willow trees or synthesized from chemical precursors. Sustainable sourcing of these raw materials is crucial, as overharvesting can threaten natural populations.

Manufacturing Processes: The production of aspirin can involve energy-intensive chemical processes. Improving energy efficiency, reducing waste, and utilizing greener chemistry principles can enhance sustainability in manufacturing.

Disposal: Pharmaceutical waste, including unused or expired aspirin, poses environmental risks if not disposed of properly. Programs for safe disposal can mitigate these risks.
