General Information

Clinically tested moisturising cream for the symptomatic relief of mild to moderate eczema. *

The Dermatologically Tested moisturising cream is unlike most products recommended for eczema affected skin. Most are cosmetic products that are only designed for normal, healthy-looking skin, QV Dermcare Eczema Daily Cream is clinically tested specifically for mild to moderate eczema skin. *

Scientifically formulated with a researched blend of ingredients, including, glycerin, lactic acid, niacinamide (vitamin B3) and a ceramide blend, together, they create a protective barrier that helps skin retain moisture and improve the skin barrier function.

This eczema cream for face and body, when paired with QV Dermcare Eczema Daily Wash has had 85% of mild to moderate eczema users experience less flares, itch and irritation. ^

SUSTAINABILITY

Rating: Moderate

  1. Aqua (Water): Widely available, but excessive use in formulations can strain water resources.
  2. Glycerin: Biodegradable and often plant derived. Synthetic glycerin has a lower sustainability profile due to its petroleum base.
  3. Petrolatum: Petroleum-based and non-renewable. Biodegradable but tied to fossil fuel extraction.
  4. Niacinamide: Synthetic vitamin B3 derivative. Resource-intensive production, but stable and non-toxic.
  5. Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil): Derived from petroleum, non-renewable. Biodegradable but impacts tied to fossil fuel extraction.
  6. Dimethicone: Silicone-based emollient. Non-biodegradable and persistent in the environment, though it has low toxicity.
  7. Cetearyl Alcohol: Plant-derived fatty alcohol, renewable, and biodegradable when sustainably sourced.
  8. Lactic Acid: Biodegradable and derived from natural fermentation. Environmentally friendly with minimal impact.
  9. Glyceryl Stearate SE: Biodegradable and partially plant based. Sustainability depends on the source of stearic acid.
  10. Ceteareth-20: Synthetic surfactant derived from polyethylene glycol (PEG). Biodegradability is low, and production involves petrochemicals.
  11. Sodium PCA: Biodegradable, derived from natural amino acids, and with minimal environmental impact.
  12. Stearic Acid: Typically, plant-derived (e.g., palm or coconut oil). Biodegradable but environmental impact depends on sustainable sourcing.
  13. Caprylyl Glycol and 1,2-Hexanediol: Synthetic humectants, biodegradable, with moderate environmental production impact.
  14. Laureth-3: Synthetic surfactant. Low biodegradability and potential aquatic toxicity; production involves petrochemicals.
  15. Xanthan Gum: Biodegradable, naturally derived through fermentation of sugars.
  16. Sodium Hydroxide: Widely used in small quantities. Low environmental impact when used responsibly.
  17. Ceramide NP, Ceramide EOP: Synthetic or plant derived. Synthetic versions have higher environmental footprints.
  18. Cholesterol: Often animal- or synthetic-derived. Sustainability depends on sourcing.
  19. Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil: Plant-based, renewable, and biodegradable. Farming practices impact sustainability.
